Mission – Business Description and Stage

To build a tools and app to help improve fine and gross motor skills

These are targeted tools specifically made to improve motor skills.

Tommy Timmy is four years old boy and he is having difficulty with his fine and gross motor skills, his teacher at school said that Tommy Timmy finds ordinary tasks quite hard to do.  She said that he needs to work on improving his fine and gross motor skills.  As a result, we decided to make some unique tools that will help Tommy Timmy use his fine and gross motor skills every day and build up strength in his muscles and coordination that will help him increase his fine and gross motor skills quickly and easily.

The tools provide practice for children on things they may need to do on a daily basis as well as other tools they may see others using.  Some children may get locked in a public toilet and have to crawl out or be saved because they cannot undo the lock.  The toolbox will help with getting dressed like opening/closing buttons, clips, zips, buckles and laces.  They can practice washing teeth, putting cards in a wallet, opening a lock and other practical things that often confuse children.

Children practice things they come across every day and also things they may see others doing, such as learning how to ride a bicycle, the tools come with an exciting character-led app that will guide the children through every activity making learning fun rather than a chore.

This bicycle simulator product is at the prototype stage and Spraoi Agus Sport have helped make part of this prototype in their FabLab.  I am collaborating with them on the best design and contents for the toolbox.  The app will be designed by Devcom once funding is secured.  The bicycle simulator is the first product that will be developed.

The toolbox and will help children improve their fine and gross motor skills, this will be particularly helpful for children that have dyspraxia, autism or other sensory issue, however, improving motor skills is valuable for all children.  Many children in preschool and school will practice improving motor skills as part of normal learning.  The app can be used on the interactive whiteboards at school.  Parents will also like to purchase the toolbox and app to gift to their children, also Occupational Therapists will find the toolbox and app very helpful when observing a child’s development.
